Abraham's Principle refers to the apparent paradox that in Europe labor mobility is high for people with a higher education (that do not "need" the mobility to find a job), whereas it is low for people with a lower education (that mostly would profit of moving to find a job).

This paradox is partially explained by the large cultural and linguistic differences found across Europe (as opposed to the US for instance).

The paradox's name is taken from Professor Filip Abraham, teaching at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, University of Rochester, and University of Bern.
